Mayra Tuncel is a fashion design student at Parsons School of Design in New York City. She is currently entering her second year at Parsons and working part time for Sandra Paez at Luz Design Studios in Brooklyn. Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Turkish immigrant parents, Mayra grew up in a multicultural environment, speaking Turkish at home and English in school. Her Turkish background always influenced the way she saw the world and has a large impact on her work today.
