Mayra Tuncel is a fashion design student at Parsons School of Design in New York City. She is currently entering her final year at Parsons in the Materiality (textiles) pathway. Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Turkish immigrant parents, Mayra grew up in a multicultural environment, which heavily influences her work today. With a fascination for traditional women's crafts, she aims to bring practices like lacework, embroidery and knitting to life through a modern lens.
